DECTAN
TREATING CORRODED STEEL AND IRON SURFACES
WITH M-FIRE TECHNOLOGIES DECTAN
DECTAN DESCRIPTION
DECTAN is a complex mixture of vinyl acrylic copolymer and tannic acid and M-Fire Technologies AF21 blend used for the treatment of corroded steel and iron surfaces. DECTAN neutralizes the corrosion process by converting the rust into a blue-black- metallo-organic compound which then encases the surface. DECTAN has been tested and certified as fit for agriculture use and other food contact areas.
FEATURES
DECTAN is resistant to a wide range of corrosive petroleum chemicals and strong acids, alkalis, aliphatic solvents, alcohols, glycols, petroleum, crude oil and diesel oil. DECTAN is designed for application by spray and brush. DECTAN may be coated when cured with any conventional paint using a brush, roller or spray. DECTAN can be used also as a priming agent.

USES FOR DECTAN
DECTAN can be used on all steel and iron structures. It can also be applied to non-finished wooden structures as a priming agent, allowing the structure to meet the non-ignition, non-burning, with zero afterglow effects criteria.
DECTAN delivers extremely effective heat and rust protection for any steel and iron surface. It can also treat corroded surfaces to stop rust damage. DECTAN is a complex mixture of a vinyl acrylic copolymer, tannic acid and our revolutionary AF21. It actually stops the rust corrosion process by converting rust into an inert metallo-organic compound that encases and protects.
Apply DECTAN as a primer using a spray or brush. One coat provides total heat resistance and arrests rust damage. Once dry, it can be coated with any conventional paint using a brush, roller or spray.
APPLICATIONS
For use in the following industries: manufacturing, agriculture, chemical, automotive, steel, trucking, marine, heavy engineering, building & construction, petrol-chemical, bulkhandling, pipeline, structural buildings.
LIMITATIONS
DECTAN is not recommended for use on aromatic solvents, animals and vegetable oils, applications.
Drying Condition
Temperature, humidity, air movement and film thickness all affect the time to reach the dry to touch stage. Under ideal conditions a 100 microns wet film of Dectan will be dry to touch in approximately 10 minutes 20ºC.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
DECTAN is resistant to a wide range of corrosives including petroleum chemicals, strong acids, alkalis, aliphatic solvents, alcohols, glycols, petroleum, crude oil and diesel oil DECTAN exceeds all safety requirements DECTAN’s formulation exceeds all safety codes and has been certified and tested for agricultural use and food contact areas DECTAN is non-flammable and can be regarded as essentially non-hazardous under normal use.
