• LEED Credits About AF31 Using cutting edge modern chemistry, M-Fire has pioneered a unique method to prevent fires in wood-framed buildings during construction. We apply a clean and eco-friendly fire inhibitor to protect wood frame structures, making them safe from the dangers of fire accidents or arson attacks. M-Fire has achieved a Class A Fire Rating in an ASTM Extended E84 burn test, proving that it can prevent devastating wood structure fires from a total loss. Additionally, we have a UL Green Guard Gold Certification, meeting the highest standards of safety and health.

Slide What is AF31? AF31 is a proprietary solution that was originally created to combat wildfire. It is a water-based solution made from food based materials. AF31 has no toxic environmental impact and does not contain any ammonia, urea, gums, gels, or known carcinogens. Slide Is there any off-gassing during the application? AF31 has been certified by UL as Greenguard Gold. The Greenguard Gold Certification standard includes health-based criteria for additional chemicals and also requires lower total VOC emissions levels to help ensure that products are acceptable for use. Slide Are there any carcinogens? AF31 does NOT use or contain any carcinogenic substances including PFAS (Poly Fluoro Alkyl Substance) such as PFOS (Perfluorooctane Sulfonate) and PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic Acid). Af31 does not contain any carcinogens IARC Group 1 or Group 2A agents or PCB’s (polychlorinated biphenyls) or PAH (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) Slide Is it safe for groundwater? Aquatic testing was performed by Pollutech EnviroQuatics Limited.

AF31 is non-toxic for fish and other aquatic organisms. Slide Are there any ophthalmic or dermal irritants or toxic effects from ingestion? AF31 was evaluated by KGK Synergize Labs, in four studies to determine its effects on acute eye irritation and corrosion, acute dermal irritation and corrosion, acute oral irritation toxicity and acute dermal toxicity.

AF31 is classified as “non-irritating” in test subjects at 72 hours. Slide Are there any ODS’s (Ozone Depleting Substances)? AF31 has been tested by PSB Singapore to be free of any ODS (Ozone Depleting Substance) and VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) Slide Is there any corrosion to fire equipment, plastic seals, or metal? AF31 has been tested by QAI Laboratory to Steel, Brass, Aluminum, PVC, CPVC, and PEX. AF31 showed an excellent performance rating according to the Corrosion Engineers Hanbook and demonstrated no significant strength reduction due to chemical exposure.
